This week is 2016 WA Sarcoma Awareness Week and the Kalin Foley Cup: Kicking Goals for Sarcoma awareness.
Kalin Foley was in year seven in 2012 when he was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue paediatric sarcoma called Rhabdomyosarcoma after a suspected injury in a game of football. Kalin lost his battle at 15 years of age in September 2014 after an extensive treatment regime and one hell of a fight. Football remembers Kalin during 2016 WA Sarcoma Awareness Week and asks all local football clubs to get involved.
The WDJFC is joining in to raise funds for sarcoma research. All home teams are asked to wear odd socks on June 18-19 to raise awareness for Sarcoma Research.
Players are encouraged to donate a gold coin to help raise funds.
Team Managers please collect the donated funds and drop in to the box in the WDJFC canteen.
Thanks
